FreeNote – Virtual Sticky Notes on Your Desktop
Sticky notes are a great way to recall or remember something important. No matter the type of information contained, these notes will allow you to manage in a majority of situations when you need to quickly know critical information. But, the same as using sticky notes on your fridge or monitor, why not using virtual sticky notes on your desktop? An application that allows this is FreeNote. It's a program that can add an unlimited number of sticky notes anywhere on your desktop, allowing you to focus on certain information.
The installation process of FreeNote is point and click and completes in no time. The user should pay attention to deselecting the option for installing a toolbar if he doesn't want it installed into his system. Most versions of Windows, ranging from XP to Windows 7, are supported by this application.
After clicking on the program's executable, an icon will be added into the taskbar, from where the user can add sticky notes and can configure the software's settings. At the first run, FreeNote includes two sample notes that can be modified or deleted. The position of a note can be manually changed or can be automatically set in the right part of the screen. Besides that, various settings for each sticky note can be set, like the background color, the font and the color of the text.
FreeNote allows automatically pasting the text found in clipboard and also using the clipboard text as a keyword for searching on the Internet. FreeNote can be set to automatically start together with Windows and can also delete all the empty notes with the push of a button.
Pros:
It allows customizing the aspect of each sticky note, like the background, font and text color. It also allows pasting clipboard text directly into a sticky note.
Cons:
The number of options are limited and there is no interface, as all the options can be accessed using the taskbar icon.
FreeNote is a great program for displaying an unlimited number of sticky notes on the desktop.
